There is a very sad truth about being a human is that we go toward comforting lies instead of unpleasant truth. The lies are not going to bring any good but the truth will. We all live in a world where nothing is real instead of the truth that we run away from.

The news media and social media is supposed to bring out the truth and show the world what's real and what's not. In today's world, everything is about money. People are running after money, organizations are running after money and now, even, the media is running after money.

HOW?

The Business of Negativeness:

You are being brainwashed by the media. According to a study from a Harvard Professor, this is the best time to be alive. If we look at some statistics from the Bureau of Justice and from the FBI's website: Since 1993, firearm homicide has dropped 39%, Non-fatal firearm incident has gone down 69%.

Now if you watch the news you'd think the exact opposite of that. Yo would think it is getting worse.

RIGHT?

That was about the U.S. Now let's look at the rest of the world. The number of deaths per year, per capita, from war around the world, is 1/12th of what it was in the 1950's. This is the safest time to be alive as a Human.

Then why did we see so much negativity in the news if the world is actually getting better?

It is because of the reason that they understand how your brain works. Your brain is designed to look for the negative because your brain wants you to stay alive. So, if the news put out more and more negative, you're more likely to watch!

Your brain is going to get addicted to watching negativity converting it to gain more money. So what we can do is brainwash yourself. Start reading books, develop a hobby, listen to educational videos and go out and see the world with your own eyes.

The Political Agency:

The current situation of every media is that they fear to speak against the ruling party. They fear that if they speak against the party they may have to fear harsh consequences. Media is supposed to bring out the truth but they always favor the political parties.

Recently I have encountered an incident on Zee News. The reporter who was supposed to show why the petrol prices have gone up. Rather they were comparing Data packs. His exact words were and I quote: So what if the petrol prices have gone up, we need to see that in 2014, 1 GB 4G data's cost was ₹240/- and in 2018, 1 GB 4G data's cost is ₹19/-. 

I was like what rubbish is this We need to know why is petrol prices going up. We already know what was the data cost and that is not our basic need now. Vehicles have become our priority now. These type of misleading news is not what we want. We want the truth, not something else.

The Media Filter:

We see so many filters every day. Snapchat filter, camera filter, a cigarette filter and many more. One filter that gets away from our eyes is the media filter. YES, the media filter. It is a filter that filters the non-monetizable news from the high monetizing news. 

As I have told above, now media is all about money. They will only show you news that is high paying. Recently, a new trend has developed that they show micro news. The micro news is not the short version of the real news, it is actually the cropped version of the real news that makes the news interesting for the addicted viewers.

The real problem is not that they are showing botched-up news but the problem is that we believe everything that they are showing. We need to focus less on what we are made to see and see everything ourselves. Do not believe everything you see or hear from the media.

We are so much active on social media that we have forgotten that there is a real world out there. No one on social media wants to show their pain, patience, and practice. Everyone on social media seems happy, wealthy and stress-free. The reality, on the other hand, is not always what we see.

We see one of our friend on social media who is on India tour or world tour. We think why my life is not like him. He is so happy and fortunate to go where ever he wants. Why can"t we do that? 

Actually, we do not know what is their pain or what they have done to be there. When you cannot match their pain and practice, you can never match their success. You need to wish less and do more. When you do more, you will have less time to focus on that stuff. Work hard toward your dream and you will live a life that everyone will envy.

Summing Up:

Do you know that all the journalists that died mysteriously never received justice? But we never heard anything on the news. Their only mistake was that they went against some powerful person. No one even cared to look into the matter.

Switch off your TV, mute your social accounts, go out and see the world with your own eyes. When you will go out, you will see prosperity, unity, and tolerance in the world. I accept that some places are not safe for women but aren't we the reason somewhere.

There is a very famous saying, and I quote:

The World Suffers a lot not because of Violence of Bad People but because of the Silence of Good People.
