That's the only thought that goes through almost everyone's mind is: How to make more money? How to become rich easily or fast?

Money is the only thing that defines your status in the society. No one cares if you have money in the bank or not. If you dress well, drive an imported car, and have no time for your family then you are rich. People have a very wrong misconception that money is directly proportional to happiness. Up to some point, it's true but as it starts to grow further greed creeps in and it makes everyone's life miserable.

Couple days back I was going through my daily routine of watching videos on YouTube when I came across a video in which a person was talking about money and random questions generated in my mind. Let's have a look what the questions were and what did I find out:

How much Important is Money?

Is money important? If yes, then what is it's importance?

Money is Important, I will not give you any spiritual lecture or comfort you with lies. We have been taught that for our survival, we need three basic things Food, House, and Clothes. In this constant changing world, our needs have also changed. Now we also need Money and Smartphones+Internet.

Money seems to be the problem of our 90% of our problems. In each and every step of our life, we need money. We need money to eat, drink, and even sleep. We cannot imagine one's life without money.

If I have to answer it to anyone I would say, Only that much money is important that covers all your needs and have some savings. You do not need to earn $Million$ to fulfill your needs. It's your greed and jealousy that wants you to earn more money. If you can control your greed and wants you will see that you need less money than you earn already.

How is money related to happiness?

According to a research done by Daniel Kahneman and Angus Deaton, from the Center of Health and Well-Being at Princeton University, came to a conclusion that only if Happiness would have a monetary value it would be $75,000 per year. That would be roughly $36 per hour considering 40 hours work per week and 52 weeks a year.

So, yes money is important and it is related to happiness. But like everything else, the relationship between money and happiness is good up to a limit.

I hope you all have seen a video of some spiritual guru or monk and they have told that money is not important, happiness is. I say to you money is important and happiness follows the money until the point where greed creeps and destroys whatever satisfaction and happiness you had.

Money is directly related to happiness unless you have greed and jealousy.

Can we be Happy without Money?

No Money can buy you happiness if you wish not to be happy. We are basically trading our time to earn more and more money. We are fulfilling someone else's dream. We do not have time for our family and relatives. We don't even have time for us.

Everyone is busy competing with one another. Working 10 to 12 hours per day just to keep the boss happy so that you do not get left out in the next appraisal. Sit down and question yourself that why are you doing this? For whom you are doing this?

Money is important to fulfill our needs and when our need is fulfilled then happiness is a matter of choice. You can choose to be happy or you can become greedy and start to crave for more money. Greed is the enemy of happiness. They cannot be on the same page. You need to choose one over other. So either you choose to be happy or miserable.

Does more Money mean more Life?

Money is important for survival but it cannot make a life. Life is a mixture of living beings like your family, relatives, pets, etc. Money can never buy you life.

We are all entangled in the golden shackles of the world. It looks very pretty on the outside but causes the same pain as the ordinary ones. We live our lives in fear. We do not care about our future, we fear that if we do not do this there will be no future. Guess what, whatever you do you can never have a peaceful and happy future if you do not do what you love.

Money does not make your life, chasing your dream does. No matter if you fail or pass, who cares, you will live a life that was worth the effort of just trying to fulfill your dreams. You will have stories to tell, experiences to share, and a smile on your face when you remember the chase.

Do not get stuck in chasing the deadline of your boss, chase your dreams and you will never have to worry about money, future or survival.

How to remove the Obsession of Money?

In today's world, everyone is obsessed with money. Everyone wants to earn more money by hook or by crook. As I have said above about chasing dreams. When you chase your dreams then also you need money but that is limited to your needs.

When you spend money on needs and not on your want, you become satisfied. Satisfaction does not mean that you do not want more but it means that you are focusing on your needs and everything else does not matter.

There is a very nice quote by Bob Marley:

Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, Your search for Happiness will never End.
