Change is the only constant.

Change is a necessary part of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become. via photopin (license)

The one thing in the world that will never be outdated is change. Change is the only proof that we humans exist and will keep existing until Armageddon. I am pretty sure someone will even survive that.

I strongly believe in Evolution. It is not because of some sci-fi movie or someone told it in such a way that made me believe him. No! I believe in evolution because of it the most logical and appropriate theory answer to our growth and existence.

The Wrong Kind of Change:-

The only thing that has kept the human race on earth is change or continual evolution and that will continue to happen until we start refusing change. This continual evolution has been observed from the beginning of time but from last few decades, we as a human have stopped evolving. We have been evolving science and that to not in the continual graph but in continuous change graph. On the personal level, I think that is the most important reason of all the natural imbalance.

The graph of the evolution of science and technology in recent years is too steep to be handled by nature. Let's take an example of mobile phones. I remember seeing a mobile phone when I was 5-6 years old. I remember there were only a few phones in our society. Every house was having a landline connection but my father is a tech-enthusiast(and I have that enthusiasm too). He brought a mobile phone for $50, 15 years ago. It was a buzz for the society that my father had bought a mobile phone.

Some elder person said that my father is throwing away his money because that thing won't catch market so soon. Now I want you to realize that how fast this change took place. 5 years earlier I got my first smartphone as a gift from my father and since then I have dumped 2 different mobile phone and currently on my third.

These things were never meant to happen so fast. Nature is too sensitive to handle this type of continuous changes. Humans can adapt to any change very easily but nature is not programmed to handle so much pressure at once.

What happened when we started using CFC for various application. Popular being its use in Refrigerators as a primary cooling agent. Various adverse effects started happening, mainly depletion of ozone layer and accumulation of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere. CFC's have very low reactivity so they can remain for 100 years or more. We synthesized this toxic gas and started using it without looking at its adverse effect.

We are responsible for ozone layer depletion and global warming. No matter how much we deny but we have no excuses on this topic. We are solely responsible if we do not have a future. In my opinion, we still have a shot in saving our future. Now we not only need a green alternative to every harmful polymer synthesized by us, mainly plastics, but we also need to find a solution to get rid of the current situation.

My Opinions:-

It's not that we did not need that change rather it happened so fast that nature did not keep up the pace. We too were so busy in making advancement that we lost track of nature's pace. We even started clearing forest to make space for the accommodation of growing population. We started thinking of our selves as the master of nature but soon that mirage vanished and we came to know the truth.

The truth is that we are a renter of this earth and the landlord being the nature. Nature will not come in your way until you try to bend its rules. Change is not an easy process it takes time and patience. It's not like you started to change a habit and you will start seeing changes from the next day. Changing the habit of using plastics and replacing it with a cheap green alternative will take somewhere between 50 to 75 years.

In parallel, controlling population and afforestation will take somewhere between 25 to 50 years. All this thing can only happen in developed countries. In underdeveloped countries, gaining the tag of the developed country will itself take 25-30 years.

Why am I saying 30 years?

Because to break the shackles of corruption needs to take place on a personal level. Everyone is complaining about corruption but no one wants to change on a personal level.

Breaking Rules, Kicking Highs:-

You need to ask yourself why are you breaking rules and then paying bribes when you can simply follow them and live a personal tension free life.

I know you will say, "Bhai rules todne me bahut kick milti hai(Brother breaking rules is my kind of getting high)." You need to question yourself that why are we breaking the rules and will come to many reasons.
Few reasons why do we break rules:-

  1. To Show-Off:- Imagine you have very shiny, silky & flawless hair or face that is an eye candy. You want the world to know that you have some pretty awesome physique to flaunt. Now you know everything has a definite place & time. While driving showing off is strictly not the place or time to flaunt your physique.
  2. To Do it purposely:- You are an irresponsible person and a developing country is strictly not for you. You take things lightly & carelessly. What do you think nothing can happen to you? If you are following news in any form you may have gone through the recent accidents that are happening recently. It's your time to act and keep yourself safe because no one else cares.
  3. Your internal wiring is incomplete:- When you do not get the right guidance at home or at school. The topic of safety and following rules go into your sub-conscious part of the brain and it becomes dormant over time. Then it takes a lot of practice and motivation to bring it into the conscious part of your brain.

Changing a habit takes time:-

To change a single habit it takes years of regular practice. Without motivation, it is not possible. To change the entire wiring system it will take lots of patience, practice & regular motivation.

One question for all:-

How do you feel when someone compliments,"You have not changed at all in past years, you are exactly who you were."

If you become happy and start your shy acting, then you are on the wrong path my friend. I am pretty sure most of you can relate to the above drama. Remember not changing is like stagnant water, has no positive energy and breeding ground for insects and micro-organisms.

You need to sit down and think what is the thing that you want to change in yourself. One by one change every habit you dislike and evolve into a better person that you are now.

The Theory of Choosing to be Neglected:-

If you plan not to change for the rest of your life, you are choosing a life of loneliness and being neglected. If you can relate I will give you an example of what happens when you choose not to change.

NOKIA, the uncrowned King of multimedia & feature phone. It was a name that everyone trusted blindly. At that time Nokia was free for conducting any experiment because many would have bought even the least successful phone just by the name. Nokia also adopted the smartphone version like Symbian and Windows phones.

Then entered a new Operating System(OS) platform, ANDROID. It was not so popular in the beginning. Slowly and gradually it started to grow and soon every trusted brand and the new ones adopted that OS.

Nokia was so sure about its fan base that it became overconfident and did not go with the flow. Nokia dropped the idea of adopting android. Soon its market started going downhill. Nokia's rival brand, SAMSUNG, have already started rolling out Android devices. Soon it crashed the market with regular releases of Android smartphones.

The adopting of Windows OS was not so successful for Nokia as it was not so user-friendly. On the other hand, Andriod went from Zero to Hero in no time. Samsung became the first and the only trusted choice for every user.

Nokia was shut down, only because it refused to change. Only if Nokia had followed the trend of going with Android, it would still be the most trusted brand in the mobile segment.

Now, 2 years earlier HMD Global Oy of Finland took the brand name of Nokia and started making the android based smartphone. It has gradually started to compete in the Andriod segment but now the competition is 10 times harder than it was back then. If it maintains it standard it is still not late for Nokia to bounce back.

Over the past 10 months, I am using a Nokia device. It has never disappointed me in any situation. Leaving not so necessary feature, it has everything that will make your lifestyle easy and pleasant. I am really impressed by HMD Global for filling Nokia's shoes, which is not an easy job to do.

Conclusion:-

From the above story, we get to learn that if we do not change we will become outdated and soon will go into the state of negligence by others. You constantly need to keep changing if you want to survive in this fast pace world. No matter how good or great you are, sooner or later you will have competition. You will need to constantly update yourself to keep pace with the changing trends and if you fail to do so soon you will become outdated and ultimately you will be forgotten.

What are your thoughts about this fast-paced changing world?
Do you constantly update yourself so you are not left behind?
